Green hydrogen program "Technologies, materials and processes for small-scale production of renewable hydrogen vectors (methane and ammonia) for a distributed exploitation" in Castilla y León.

The use of hydrogen as an energy vector is positioning as a key element in meeting the objectives of decarbonization and the search for alternative fuels from renewable energies. Consequently, it has become one of the priority objectives for financing from the funds of the recovery and resilience mechanisms.

The Complementary Plans approved by the Government are a tool for the implementation of research programs in certain strategic areas, co-financed by the Ministry of Science and Innovation and the autonomous regions. In particular, the Complementary Plan for renewable energy and hydrogen is financed with 69 million Euros, with the participation of the regions of Castilla La-Mancha, País Vasco, Asturias, Aragón, Islas Canarias, Navarra, Extremadura, Castilla y León, Cantabria and Comunidad de Madrid, as well as the Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC).

Particularly in Castilla y León, the University of Burgos leads, within the Region of Castilla y León, this Complementary Plan in renewable energy and hydrogen, in which the four public universities of our region (University of Valladolid, University of León and the University of Salamanca), as well as the technological centers CIDAUT and CARTIF participate.
